Classes

The shop hosts two weekly knitting groups.  Except for holidays you can find a group of knitters at the Crooked Stitch known as the Lunch Bunch on Wednesdays from 11am to 3 pm.  Bring your lunch and share our passion with the “sticks and string.”  Then on Thursday evenings, starting at 6pm,  join us for Knit Night and enjoy the opportunity to knit with some of the area’s finest knitting minds!

Third Saturday Work Along with the Modern Quilt Guild.  We meet from 1 to 4 the third Saturday of each month to draw on each other’s experience and skill. Finish those   projects that just won’t end, or start something new and leave feeling invigorated!  Share triumphs or take home new skills, it’s a great way to celebrate your love of quilting with others who TOTALLY understand!  It’s free, and a great way to learn more about the Southwest Virginia Modern Quilt Guild!

Gift Certificates are available for classes and supplies.  We also keep Wish Lists for those in your life who have no idea what to get you for holidays or birthdays.  Come in and leave a list with us.  We will take good care of your non-knitting or non-quilting friends and family who want to give you something you will love!

April Classes

Basic Knitting

Learn the only two stitches you need to make any knitted project: knit and purl.  By the end of the class you will have the skills you need to venture out into the wide world of knitting.  We supply needles and yarn. Must register in advance. Class size limited.

Date:  Saturday, 04/07/12                             Time:  2:00 to 4:00pm                     Cost:    $35

Hand Knit Socks

If you can knit, purl, increase and decrease, you have all the skills you need to knit a pair of socks!    Over three consecutive Tuesday nights you will learn how to knit a simple sock, and how to recreate it!!  Class includes basic pattern reading skills as well as a basic sock pattern. Must register in advance.  Class size limited.

Dates: Three Tuesdays, 04/10, 17, 24      Time:  6:00 to 7:30pm       Cost: $65 (includes yarn and needles)

Evolution Quilt

For confident beginners, this two color quilt is quick and fun!  Join us for an afternoon of piecing and have a whole quilt done in just one weekend!  Must register in advance. Class size limited.
